In early 2010 Cam found himself on a night out in Clapham, London, being charmed by a somewhat indecipherable yet handsome Scotsman. After bridging some, no doubt hilarious, language barriers Cam and Stuart began dating, despite Cam's plans to soon leave the UK to return home to Auckland. 5 years on, Cam and Stuart were engaged and moving to New Zealand.

After agreeing to get married in New Zealand, the couple agreed that Waiheke Island was the perfect destination to show off to family and friends from across the globe. Bypassing the seemingly more conventional vineyards on the island and looking for something a bit more homely, a friend sent Cam and Stuart an article on Oakura Bay and the gorgeous homestead that lies in the bay. With the help of Sophia from My Waiheke, Stuart and Cam could see both their ceremony and reception taking place on the immaculate lawns of the homestead, and were sold.

As a self-proclaimed 'two fellas organising a wedding' - Cam mentions that neither he or Stuart had any sort of idea as to what their wedding would look like. Using their heritage as a starting point, Cam and Stuart went to their friend and designer Libby from Elizabeth & Ink with a brief for the invitations. The result was the beautiful synergy of New Zealand and Scottish accents paired with 'masculine and stylish' tones in the form of leather, feathers and navy, which set the theme for the rest of the wedding.

The day was a perfect Kiwi summer affair, the sun was shining, there was a sunscreen station, lounge furniture, handmade signage and an outdoor bar. Not to mention a whisky bar that was popular with the Scots. The couple credit a lot of the success of their day to My Waiheke and the local suppliers and vendors they used.

The team at Crane Brothers in Auckland tailored a made-to-measure 3 piece suit for Cam to wear, which he wore with a pair of Christian Louboutins. While Stuart wore his clan's Tartan (Duncan), complete with a plaid (cape) fastened with a family crest brooch. Stuart's brothers and Father also wore their Duncan Tartan kilts, which really added to the style of the wedding.

Proceedings were brought to a halt by the couples' phenomenal MC, Lou, with an important health and safety announcement. Cam and Stuart were briefly concerned then quickly blown away as their two friends emerged in full traditional Indian attire dancing to Bollywood hit 'Jai Ho', which soon turned into a full-on flash mob of around 40 guests! Friends of Cam and Stu, Lou and Sarah, had coordinated the group dance with guests from across the globe weeks before the wedding and pulled it off in quite a fashion, which Cam says was one of his favourite parts of the night.
