A lifelong love story, Kristen and Patrick met for the first time across the classroom when they were just 6 years old. Although they moved schools eventually and went in different directions, fate brought them back together when they were 16 and they have been together ever since.
An engagement on beautiful Waiheke Island inspired them to choose this picturesque piece of New Zealand for their wedding destination also. Mudbrick Winery was to be the host for Kristen and Patrick's nuptials as they said ‘I do’ infront of their nearest and dearest.
With her mind set on a wedding dress with long lace sleeves and many failed attempts at finding the perfect dress off-the-rack, Kristen decided her dream dress would need to be tailor made just for her. Designer Jane Yeh created Kristen’s romantic lace wedding gown with sheer sleeves, sweat-heart neckline and full, lace train.
An autumn date and the rustic charm of the Mudbrick estate set the tone for the wedding décor. Flickering tea-lights and dark green foliage ran down the tables, perfectly accented by gold flatware and the metallic horse-shoe favours that marked each guests place. A framed school classroom picture of Kristen and Patrick reminded guests of the journey their love story had taken.
A much anticipated day for the bride and groom, the highlight was during the reception when Kristen and Patrick looked around the glowing room at their closest friends and family, all smiling and laughing and filled with joy. In that moment they were so grateful for their special day and for finally becoming husband and wife.
