Inseparable since university, Hannah and Troy wanted a weekend getaway destination wedding and with many a fond memory of summers together in the picturesque Coromandel Peninsula, they settled on a rustic and romantic vacant section in Pauanui.

Pitching a giant stretch tent across the barely touched section was the starting point for the relaxed wedding weekend. Vintage and collected décor, jars with flickering candles and wild flowers harvested by Troy’s mum decorated the long raw wooden tables. Simple white bunting, strings of festoon lights and an open dance floor under the stars worked to create the laid-back festival feel they had planned.

While browsing the pages of Pinterest, Hannah stumbled upon the Riuz dress by Laure de Sagazan and instantly fell in love. Made to measure in Paris, shipped to London and lovingly transported back to NZ by a friend, Hannah’s dress was delivered to her just a few days before she said ‘I Do’.

Creating a memorable celebration for their most cherished friends and family was important for the couple. Choosing a location for the reception that was not an established venue meant there were no time restrictions and guests had the freedom to stay and celebrate for as long as they wished. Guests took full advantage of the open air party as they danced barefoot under the stars well past 2am. The vacant section was also the perfect spot for hosting a big BBQ breakfast the next day.

The gathering of close friends and family was the highlight for both Hannah and Troy, and it was a moment just after desert that the newlyweds stood back and with an overwhelming sense of love, happiness and gratitude watched their happy guests dancing the night away.
