Fine details were created with floral appliques, lace and touches of metallic, and the poufy skirt took a back seat with silhouettes largely streamlined. Cut-outs, with or with out lace or mesh inserts, created dramatic yet modern angles at the neck and waist, and sleeves were again popular with sheer, with wide and ruffled examples creating a beautiful ethereal air.
