Wedding Trend: The Great Outdoors
From the wide open space of a rustic farm to an intimate little spot under the vines, the options are both spectacular and endless when planning an outdoor wedding.
Weather you settle on a view of the mountains, water or hills – the key to a beautiful outdoor wedding is seamlessly complimenting your surroundings. Think raw materials such as burlap, linen and cotton draped over tables and tied around posies. Choose wild flowers and lush local greenery. Look for natural wood and cane when choosing furniture and props.
When it comes to your dress, think about natural materials such as silk and cotton lace and compliment with fresh and soft bridal hair and make-up. Food and drink should take on the relaxed feel of your outdoor setting. Sharing plates, pitchers of fresh cocktails, BBQ’s and picnics are a few ideas for outdoor dining.
Consider that your guests will be spending the day and evening outdoors when choosing ceremony seating, favors and reception dining. Parasols, jandals and light blankets make great favors and protect your guests from the weather. Draping festoon lights and soft candles look pretty while also lighting the space for your guests and large beanbags, throw pillows or rugs create comfortable areas to relax during the afternoon.
Whether you decide to say ‘I do’ on a jetty stretching into a dark blue lake, under hanging branches deep in the forest or amongst rambling country hills, be prepared for a day full of beauty and magic.
